Football

Can you believe that this team, the team that is hyped up as some sort
of 'wonder team' by the media have ruined the whole country's dreams?
Totally embarassing. Germany owned that game, we looked slightly like
we were going to get somewhere at one point, but were absolute rubbish.
These footballers are nothing special. It's all about the money for
them, not the game/country/love. Worst ever. Abysmal.

We need real footballers who care about the game, who focus and work
for their money.

This video is my process, and I have put it together to accompany my images. I want the viewer to have to look twice, make them wonder what is going on. If viewers are questioning 'what the hell is this girl trying to achieve' I feel I will have achieved what I set out to do. I have expressed myself, and I will have achieved the challenging of peoples perceptions as the reality their brain constructs will not be real. (Rookes and Willson)

It is only an experiment... And I don't like the "Is this how you percieved it to be" bit at the end, but as I say, it's my experiment. But actually, I quite like the rest of it.

Red Riding Hood Images

Here are a selection of my Red Riding Hood interpretation images.
I have a video too, and publishing it on YouTube has changed the quality. I am proud of the look of my model, and the scenery. I believe it begins to make the viewer think. Although I don't know if its enough...

Buren Images

The Buren images are intriguing. The second image is a painted wall, with sliders containing different coloured squares. The viewer can create their own view of the work by moving he sliding parts accordingly. This allows the viewer to change their original perceptions and ideas about the art work. I love this work, I think it would be quite useful for Jaz's particpatory art research too.

I was trying to post a comment directly to it, but the function would not work. I was reading your post on Anna Gaskell, and saw that you referenced the Jackson Twins.

I went to the wolverhampton show as well last year...it was wicked.

I'm not sure if you know, but they have a show that just opened in Birmingham with Vee Spears (love her work too.) The Jacksons have several of the large pieces (I think they are same size and finish as Wolverhampton--so HUGE!!) I think I remember counting 8...but there are totally incredible pieces. If you are in the area in the next 2 months it is worth seeing...it is awe-inspiring, actually!

Making normal things 'special'

"Ellen Dissanayake (1995) points out that art creation is taking ordinary things and making them special."

I have taken these flowers and branches of a tree, and made them something special. I have created intrigue.

Perceptions

I wanted to share an image from the new Alice in Wonderland, because many people are saying its not a good adaptation, I think this is because the director is challenging the viewer to alter their perceptions. But as an artist, is this the directors intention? And that, I believe, is the reason some people dislike the new version from the original Alice in Wonderland. Their perceptions are altered.

Keeping My Eyes Open

Keeping my eyes open for related projects has become one of the most useful tools in my artistic toolkit. It is very useful and I do it without realising, and so did Rachel. She sent me a text about the Smirnoff advert being "fairytaley." When I looked into the advert, I did notice that the characters were of a fairytale quality and they were all in a forest. The advert is below. As you can see, it is very 'extraordinary' as it states.
